BCLUW Awards Bid for the Elementary & High School Facilities Project

To the Parents & Guardians, Staff, Students and Community Members of the BCLUW Community School District.

On behalf of the board of education, I wanted to further update our community on the facilities planning at BCLUW. In late September, we shared information about the design phase for the elementary and high school project, a summary of the reasoning for these improvements, the proposed new additions and renovations to be made, and how the project will be financed. Since then, the design work was completed by Emergent Architecture, the project submitted for bids, and a public hearing was held at the BCLUW Board of Education meeting on December 9.  

We are pleased to report that BCLUW received seven bids on the project, including bids that came in below the architectural firm’s estimated construction cost. If you are interested in those details, you can find the bid summaries and recommendation from Emergent Architecture on the school district’s board website for December.  The school board awarded the project to the low bidder, Garling Construction, at that meeting. We look forward to breaking ground on this project next year, and are excited about the improvements this will present for our students and community at BCLUW!
